Ian has many years experience in the design, implementation and support of large and small computer applications. He has worked on large mainframe computers as well as personal computer based and web based applications.

In recent years most of his work has been on web based systems that interface with other applications to provide online help and support replacing traditional paper based user manuals.

Ian lectures to professional students on the use of computer technology and compliance with the Data Protection Act.

He is the webmaster of the www.mullgenealogy.co.uk website. The website is designed to help and assist research into family history for those having ancestors from the island. The website is based on an Access database holding details on over 11,000 individuals and uses aspx script to retrieve and construct the viewed web pages.
